Deep within one of the dense forest of Switzerland, there stood a lone simple wooden cottage, if anyone where to pass it the only signs that it was resided would be the seemingly constant screaming and yelling of its two occupants. A pair of sisters, who had been shunned from the near by town, where they had been born and raised till the younger of the two hit puberty. Now the two were alone, with no family bar the other and yet it seemed that only hatred reigned inside its wooden walls.
"God damn it..." The younger of the two, Odette, snarled, heaving a heavy sigh as she glowered at her sibling. "All I ask is to be let alone to do my part to help forward science, mankind itself... Yet you do all you can to dismantle it, break it, take us back millions of years..."

The older of the two sighed having heard it all before, rolling her eyes and brushing it off. Her own noise within a book letting her sisters words fall away.
"I've told you over and over I don't go anywhere near that stuff not that you believe me" she breathed "Sides wasn't I the one that asked you to find out what the hell attacked me all those years ago and yet....still nothing."

"Yes, because you know fine well what attacked you... Same thing that attacked me and... Mother...." She said, her head drooping at the memory of their beloved mother. She composed herself with a long, deep, shaky breath. "The monster that gave me the scar where you have the birthmark...." Her hand went to her waist instinctively.

"I know it wasn't of this Earth and is a creature of the night, I know it drinks blood and can't stand the sunlight. That's more thanks to MY research then yours thank you very much." she said standing up from her spot by the fire. "That and actually going outside to try and find answers"

"You know I don't like outside... Mother went outside... DIdn't come back... Least not in the same way..." She said, barging past her, to her room where she slammed the door shut

She let out a breath. "Which is why I must" she stated into the still air of the room, taking her cape and pulling it round herself "If you won't find answers then I will. One way or the other."
With that and the sun setting She ventured forth into the darkend shadows.

Odette had done the same, though through less ordinary means. She sat by the lake which was down a slight decline behind their home, she sat at the edge, sighing heavily

From places hidden in shadow a creature watched....creature....not in the normal viewing of the word but what else to call such a being. He to viewed the world a little differently his own questions coming to mind, his own study and the sisters just happened to be part of it.
"Now, I know the last sighting of this thing was near the town so that would mean it...." she sighed. "Could be anywhere."

"Misses know it all... If she is so sure she will find this 'beast' then why'd she even ask me? I have much better thing's to do than look for 'creatures' who hurt her, when it was all fathers work..."
Red eyes watched from the tops of the trees, beaneath a smirk painted their owners lips

Fathers....had he heard her right? His memory going back to his own. How long had it been, weeks, months....years? He couldn't help but remember the looks his father had given him, the looks that so far he had not seen in another.
"How is it this thing attacks and yet no one seems to know for sure what it is?" she questioned "And why the hell did I live when all the others..." she couldn't even bring herself to say it.

"Problem is... Whenever I have the time, God knows I can never remember what there is I can do before..." She sighed, closing her eyes, smirking slightly as she opened them. SHe stood up, slowly undoing the outer parts of her dress, leaving only the undergarments on as she slowly walked into the lake, relaxing as she felt the water caress her skin.
His tongue ran over his lips, over the tips of his teeth, sniffing in his latest obsessions scent

Still he watched, wondering about the sheading of clothes, wondering why her form seemed different from his. How he longed to speak, to reach out, he had after all been watching them for awhile but....no...fear, fear held him back.
Walking further into the woods Layla couldn't help the strange feeling that came over her, the feeling of being washed though, now after all these years she had gotten used to it. Her fingertips went to a mark within her wrist, two tiny healed holes, the only thing she truly remembered about the attack.

"Erm... Whoever it is watching... May as well come join me... Sister won't be back for a while and... As lovely as misery is... Kind of does like company." She called, grinning as she looked back.
He had kept her in mind ever since he'd first tasted her... If it weren't for her damn mother and then he annyoing sister he would have swept her up much sooner... Still, it had been a few years since he'd had a good game of cat and mouse

Stunned he readied himself to run, only to trip and fall forward spilling out near the waters edge. His eyes wide, yellow, searching.
"Mother" she breathed trying once more to recall that night but couldn't, even in dreams all she saw were flashes, shadows, the beating of wings which to this day she didn't understand.

She giggled, before a coughing fit hit her as she pulled herself out of the water, slowly calming her system so she could speak. "You clumsy thing... Are you alright?"
Maybe he should have gone for the mother... Her sister was far too young at the time, even for his tastes and yet... No, mother was past her prime
