Ariel sat on the shore, looking down at her new legs, bending them and touching them. She wanted to stand and try to walk, but was afraid to. What if she fell. She smiled, and tried to laugh, but no sound came.

Eric walked along the beach, his mind once more playing that song, that melody that had been driving him nuts ever since hearing it. Like a music box it played over and over and over again never stopping and that face, the one he had woken up to, then and every night.
The members of his castle thought him crazy, that he had hit his head before washing ashore but he was so sure that the girl he had seen and heard were real.

Ariel looked down at herself again, and noticed that she had no clothes on like the other humans. She wasn't sure, but she didn't think that was okay. Looking around the beach she saw an old sail and some rope. Slowly and tentatively she got up and clumsily walked over to it, wrapping it around herself and tying some rope around her waist and around the top. It did look rather nice, she thought.

Upon his walk down the beach Eric could hear his dog, Max, playing within the water running along side him. It was only when they reached a corner that Eric noticed a change in him, is head high sniffing at the air.
With a loud bark he took off Eric having to run to keep up with him.

Ariel stood by the water, the waves lapping over her toes when she heard a sound and turned, seeing a large white and black animal running towards her. Quickly, she climbed onto a large rock, where the thing couldn't reach her.

Max jumped and barked happily, he knew this person, he had smelt her twice now, it was a scent he wouldn't forget. He barked once more for his master who he now saw running around the corner and stopping.
"I'm sorry miss, I don't know what's gotten into him" Eric said walking forward and tried to get Max to sit. "He's really quit harmless"

Ariel saw him and froze, smiling. Then, she shook her head a little and looked down at the now quiet dog. She still wasn't sure she wanted to get off her rock though, just in case. So, she looked back at Erik instead.

With Max now calmed down Erik glanced upwards the sun behind the girl before him, bathing her in a light. Before he could speak flashes come to his mind, of that moment in time, her face... it seemed...
"Do I.... know you?" he questioned.

She smiled and nodded her head, then paused a second and shook her head, not sure exactly what the right answer was.

He thought for a moment sure he had seen her before it hit him.

She smiled wide and nodded frantically. He knew her! That must mean he loved her too. This wasn't going to be so hard afterall. He would kiss her and then everything would be alright again.

"I knew it, you're real, everyone said I was crazy but I'm not. Who are you, whats your name?" he ranted taking hold of her hands never wanting to let them go.

She opened her mouth to talk, but nothing came out. She frowned and pointed to her throat sadly. Her voice, that stupid witch had taken it completely.
