~* Vampire Stories *~ Intro She was the light of every one’s eyes, the person that made everyone feel like they had a friend she was the gentlest, kindest and most giving person anyone had ever met and for a short time she was his. She was the only one that had ever loved him for him, loved him not for the spell he could so easily cast her under. She could see beyond the pale skin, the deep yet empty eyes and the fact that he seemed to have so many secrets, like how he turned up every where she went, how he was always there and how he seemed to have a pull over her. Sadly she had died many, many years ago on a night were a full moon hung high unlike him she could not live forever unless she became like him a creature of the night but even that hadn’t been a thought. He had arrived too late but that didn’t stop him then and it didn’t stop him now 2000 years later.

Chapter One She couldn't shake the feeling that she had been watched as she walked home from work, her school back pack somewhat weighing her down. One would think that you’d get used to it after TEN years of schooling, of course there were more books added to the ever growing pile along with a school uniform that was stuffed somewhere inside. ‘Next year I’m getting wheels’ she thought to herself ‘and not just the auto kind.’It might also help to get rid of the feeling that made each steep faster and longer in every stride the long dark hairs at the back of her neck rising along with goose bumps that graced both arms and legs, a shiver running up her spin. The full moon was out and the little light it gave off didn't help her to see anyone hidden within the shadows. She often come this way after work and she’d never had any trouble it was most likely a cat or an owl or some other creature and so she brushed it aside though that didn't stop the uneasy feeling making her steeps a little faster. (Something HE could easily match). He watched her, her every steep and movement unable to get away from his long trained eye. She wasn't as graceful as she had once been, no doubt that lump of a bag being partly to blame. Her hair was longer though still the same rich drown with goldness dancing within despite the late night hour that chimed. He knew she felt him watching her, a smile gracing his lips at this, she had always known when he was about despite the powers he had that should cloak him and his fellow kind. She had changed but still he thirsted for her, the hunger he felt as he watched her only grew. It had once been a hunger for her blood but now, now it was a hunger for her heart. His blue eyes held back the tears that he felt he should shed despite the weakness the wet trail would show but somehow he held them back for after all he had cried enough over the years and now was not the time.
As he watched her he couldn't help but wonder how her life this time had turned out, was she still the happy child that had graced his life, at the party that had pulled him out of his gloom or was she harder? Like living in this age seemed to call for? His prayed (though unless) that the later was not the case, he couldn't think of her as anything then what she had been. His love, his life, his reason for being his… Rose.Rose sighed, heaving her heavy pack off her back and down to the floor. She ran a hand through her hair once again catching a glimpse of the scare that had long perplexed her. For the life of her she couldn't remember how she had gotten the two side by side holes in her wrist too big for a snake bite but unable to be anything else. The funny thing was, as she ran her hand over the mark, the flashes that filled her head. Music of classical kind filled her ears, a forgotten memory pushing to the forefront. Masks, so many of them and laughter, yes the laughter seemed to be everywhere as is everyone knew something she didn't and a face, one that seemed blurred around the edges and yet so clear still, no matter how hard she tired she couldn't catch his face, couldn't call back the image of the man behind the mask one that seemed to draw her in with deep blue eyes. He was the answer to the riddle, to all her questions. He would know the reason her knees went weak, the reason why her heart speed and stopped all at the same time and why… why she couldn't tear her eyes away.Shaking her head Rose called herself out of the waking dreams that had once been confined to when she was sleeping just when it had started to creep into her waking world she didn't quite know. She sometimes found herself thinking that someone was watching her dream at night as if the blue eyes watching over her planted these dreams in her mind calling to something long forgotten and bringing it to the forefront but each time failing. At these times she woke with a start looking around her room for any lingering figure though always finding nothing, no one besides her however she could never truly shake the feeling that she was not alone. She wondered if it would be like that tonight or even now as her eyes wanted to close, they suddenly seeming heavy along with her body. She shook the feeling for a moment walking into her room not even having a chance to pull back the covers before falling onto the bed and the voice of her dreams starting calling to her. “Rose” his voice echoed within her mind calling to her heart for it was here he knew he remained. “Rose, come to me.” His blue eyes watched over her as his mind crept into her subconscious drawing back the images of long ago.
“Do you remember me my love? Do not tell me you have forgotten my sweet, sweet angel”
Yes, even though he himself was a demon he knew of angels for his sweet Rose was just that and so a Devil fell in love with an Angel, people always said the world wasn't always black and white.

Note of change: [and so the Devil fell in love with an Angel. people always said the world wasn't always black and white.]
Could change to: [and so heaven had joined with hell and the saying of good girl fall for bad men became true. People did say the world wasn't always black and white but made up of shades of grey.]

Her dark eyes looked at him as if he was a stranger though one seen before. His blue eyes looking deep into her and down to her heart looking to see if he could find that tiny thread of space made just for him and their love.
"Tell me my name my only love, you speak it often from your heart. Remember me, I command you to remember me."
Who was he to command of her and how was it her heart wanted to obey more then anything else when her head screamed for her to run? Could it be that this man knew something she did not? He seemed to look right through her even when he drew her in making her loose herself in his eyes.
So dark, so deep and here she thought his kind were black eyed, bottomless, soul less. So how then did it come to be that his eyes were blue and were had the thought came from that she now shook out of her head?
Vampire? The word danced round in her mind, it had been something she had been called long ago when her hair was straight and black her eyes matching the colour and skin, so white it made the moon look light.
"Who are you?" she found herself whispering "What's your name?"
She longed to reach out her hand and remove the mask but some unseen secret held her hand down, telling her more then words ever could. He was in control, he was always in control.
He would not let her remove his mask, for death was not a face one should look upon lightly. He hide, though it pained him for she had always called him beautiful though he never believed it.
"You know it my love, try to remember. It is as dark as your eyes once were and as sweet as kiss which is part of my name sack. Look at me and tell me you don't remember my kiss..."
His lips came closer, a cold breath brushing over her lips as she stood there still as stone
"or my touch"
His fingers were as cold as ice and just as hard making her jump slightly and his eyes harden.
"I..I..don't"
A cold figure lay itself upon her lips a whisper slowly coming to her ear.
"You will. I promise you, you will."

But how could one remember that which was lost? It wasn't like a puzzle were you could just search for the pieces until you formed the whole big picture. Nor was it a magic spell, though sometimes he wished it was.
For if only his powers could pull on her mind as well as her heart, but it didn't work that way and no matter how powerful he was or would become matters of the mind were just out of reach. Besides, the Rose he knew and the Rose before him were two very different people.
"Come Rose, you must remember me. How could you forget, look into my eyes, deep into my eyes and tell me you don't remember."
Rose was getting scared, the voice inside her head was getting louder and stronger, the cold touch outside of her dreams making goose bumps rise up upon her skin. When he looked at her, he seemed to draw her in with a power that no words could come close to describing.
She tried to will herself to move, to wake up and bring this to an end but she couldn't look away, could move. Her mind seemed to be able to think but that was all. It no longer seemed to have control of her body, no she knew she no longer had control but that someone else did and that she wouldn't have control until HE let her.
Giving in and wanting it to be over made her look into his blue eyes, or at lest that's what she thought she was looking at but as she looked deeper, it wasn't his eyes that she saw.
As she looked at him his eyes changed, not in colour like most would have thought, but in depth. His eyes become pools and then mirrors, yes, it was true, the eyes really were the mirrors to the soul but since a vampire didn't have a soul, it was his victims that his eyes saw and showed
